Privacy policy

This page explains what registrystack.org collects, why, and what it does not do. It covers this website only. The hosted lab at lab.registrystack.org and the docs site at docs.registrystack.org are separate services with their own policies.

Who we are

Registry Stack is published by Aubex Consulting LLC, 28 Geary St, Ste 650 #189, San Francisco, CA 94108, United States. Aubex is the controller responsible for this website. You can reach us at contact@registrystack.org.

What this site collects

This site is a static set of pages. It has no accounts, no forms, and it does not set any cookies of its own.

Analytics

We run a self-hosted analytics tool, Umami, at stats.registrystack.org. It is cookie-free. When it is enabled, it records aggregate, de-identified usage data: page views, referring sites, and a general browser and device class. It does not build a profile of an individual visitor and does not share data with advertising networks. We also tag some outbound link clicks, for example to the docs site, the live demo, or GitHub, with the link’s destination and label, so we can see which resources visitors use next. These events are not tied to a name, an email address, or any other identifying detail.

Email

If you email us, you give us your address and the content of your message. We use that only to reply to you and keep the exchange as ordinary business correspondence.

Server logs

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub, as the hosting provider, keeps its own server logs, for example request IP addresses, to operate the service. We do not configure or query those logs beyond what GitHub provides. GitHub’s own privacy statement covers that data.

What this site does not do

  • It does not set cookies of its own.
  • It does not run advertising and does not share data with ad networks.
  • It does not sell personal data.
  • It does not build behavioral profiles of visitors.

Legal bases for visitors in the EEA and UK

Where the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interest to run aggregate, cookie-free analytics that help us understand which pages are useful. If you email us, that exchange proceeds on the basis that you chose to contact us and provided your information for that purpose.

Retention

Analytics events are aggregate and are not tied to an identified person. We keep them only as long as they are useful for understanding site usage. Email correspondence is kept as ordinary business records for as long as it stays relevant.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal data you have given us, for example the content of an email, by writing to contact@registrystack.org. We will respond. Aggregate analytics data is not tied to an identified person, so there is generally nothing to look up or erase per visitor. If you believe otherwise in your case, tell us and we will look into it.

Third-party services linked from this site

This site links to GitHub for source code and releases, to docs.registrystack.org for documentation, and to lab.registrystack.org, a hosted demo that runs on synthetic data only. Each of those is a separate service with its own privacy practices. This policy covers registrystack.org only.

We may update this page as the site changes. The effective date below tells you when it last changed.
